Debt Management Credit Counseling Corp (http://www.dmcconline.org), a nonprofit organization (DMCC), announced today a new Credit Score Analysis program to teach consumers how to increase their personal credit scores. The program provides consumers a written analysis of their credit report and specific steps they can take to increase their score. Most importantly, DMCC counselors are able to simulate various changes to the consumer’s credit report and score that the consumer believes they are actually able to make. The result is a written action plan for the consumer that is custom to their personal goals and financial situation. Consumers enrolled in other programs with DMCC, including debt management plans, are provided the Credit Score Analysis program for free. DMCC charges other consumers $49 for the program, which covers the cost of the underlying credit reporting service and the anticipated counseling time with each consumer.

Lenders, insurers, service providers, government agencies and even potential employers, may obtain a consumer’s credit report to assess how the consumer manages their financial responsibilities. A consumer’s credit report may be the determining factor in the decision that is made about the consumer, and the consumer’s credit score is a number that may be used to decide. “We recognize that in today’s world, credit affects virtually every financial decision made”, said Phil Heinemann, DMCC Executive Director. “With this new program, DMCC is able to help consumers increase their credit scores, so they are a positive factor in any financial decisions being made about the consumer.”

Consumers interested in taking advantage of this new program should call and speak to a DMCC Certified Credit Counselor at (866) 618-3328 or request to be contacted by completing an online application form on the DMCC website.
