DMCC’s free Financial and Budgeting Workshops come at a perfect time as consumers are apprehensive about making financial decisions due to the poor state of the U.S. economy. Through these workshops, consumers gain an understanding of where they need to focus in order to either improve their financial situation or maintain their current status, without getting into more debt. The workshops not only cover the basics of budgeting, but also how credit reports and credit scores are formulated, and smart banking; the wise use of credit, savings and investments. “In difficult economic times, you should follow a spending plan that will prepare you for an unexpected loss of income or expense. A well thought out budget can provide peace of mind.” stated Jessica Stokes, Education and Research Coordinator at DMCC.   Consumers, organizations and businesses interested in attending or scheduling a free workshop should contact the DMCC Education Department.

DMCC has been offering budget counseling and financial workshops throughout South Florida for over 10 years. Certified credit counselors travel to businesses, community centers, high schools and universities to offer free counseling and education. The DMCC education program is unique in that it is able to accommodate the specific needs of the organization or business hosting the workshops. The free educational materials disseminated by DMCC at each workshop have resulted in these workshops being in high demand.
