Free Finance Counseling at the Patchogue-Medford Library on November 17th

November 17, 2016 from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

What are your money goals?

Are they as big as hoping to buy a house, or as small as balancing how much money to set aside for groceries versus going out to restaurants?

No matter the objective, Patchogue-Medford Library is hosting a series of personalized, one-on-one financial counseling sessions that can help you accomplish these ideas as part of the Money for Life program.

John Pabon, a New York State Regional Manager for Debt Management Credit Counseling Corp (DMCC), is coming to the library for three evening sessions to meet with anyone that has questions about getting fiscally fit.

He is certified for both credit counseling as well as for housing counseling in the state. Throughout his regular work-week at the non-profit, he focuses both on counseling clients as well as giving seminars to private businesses, banks, schools and universities throughout Long Island.

His free sessions will be taking place on November 17th from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. While all of the available appointments for these sessions are already waitlisted, Pabon said that if time is permitting he may be able to take walk-ins. Anyone interested in joining the formal waitlist can do so by contacting Danielle Paisley by phone at 631-654-4700 ext. 301, through the contact form or directly on Patchogue-Medford Library’s website through the Event Calendar.

The counseling is completely free, but anyone attending should be ready to explain their particular issue, understand their current expenses and talk about how they are currently keeping a budget. Pabon can also help fill in the gaps on those, for instance he can help give advice on how to start keeping a budget in the event a patron doesn’t currently do that.

Anyone that is not able to make it to these sessions at the library can also make an appointment directly with Pabon at the DMCC office at 152 Waverly Ave. in Patchogue. He can be reached by phone at 1-888-777-0978 and the website for the DMCC can be found by clicking HERE.
