DMCC not only provides quality debt management and credit counseling for our clients, but also educates the general public on financial, credit and debt issues in order to promote healthy financial habits.
We provide a variety of free services and information to the public. Seminars and educational materials are available in English and Spanish.
Financial Literacy Program:
DMCC offers its Financial Literacy Program free of charge to high school and college teachers that want to incorporate it as part of their regular economics lesson. Students can take the course on the Internet or with a workbook. DMCC then provides the teacher with a list of students’ scores and progress.
If you are a teacher or administrator, and would like for your class to gain valuable financial skills through DMCC’s free Financial Literacy Program, please e-mail Jason Athas at jason@dmcconline.org.

Read what some of our students say about our educational program:
“I greatly appreciate the speech you delivered to my class. Recently, my family filed for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and we had to sell the home that my siblings and I grew up in. I will carry with me the things you said in your speech to make sure that I never have to repeat that mistake.” – Elizabeth
“When I got home today I told my aunt that when she gets credit cards offers in the mail to shred them. I told my grandmother to leave her social security, Medicare and Medicaid cards at home unless she is going somewhere that she needs them. Thank you for coming to our class.” – Sarah
“I want to thank you for taking the time to come to our class. I now know what to do and what not to do to keep myself and others in my family out of debt.” – Kaylia
“I learned the basics about credit and how to handle it well. Knowing this type of stuff at an early age is a great benefit and something I will remember for the rest of my life. Now I am aware and prepared for the future of my financial situation.” – Malika
