Substance Abuse Housing Scholarship Program

The DMCC Homeless Initiative provides support services for individuals requiring short-term housing and the financial skills necessary to transition into a permanent home. The DMCC Substance Abuse Housing Scholarship Program provided by the DMCC Homeless Initiative is designed to help recovering addicts, who do not have the means to support themselves while in the initial stage of treatment, take the first step back towards becoming productive members of society by providing safe and supportive housing.

The Program is designed to pay for housing and transportation to/from treatment during the first 90 days of an individual’s residence in an approved sober living home through the solicitation of donations from various community organizations, businesses and treatment providers. For more information about making a donation to the DMCC Homeless Initiative to fund this program click here.

The goal of the Program is to increase the rate of individuals successfully transitioning from a life of addiction to one of productivity by giving eligible participants the “breathing room” to focus on their recovery during the initial treatment period, while motivating, educating and preparing them for the financial realities of life after recovery.
