DMCC Publishes Personal Budgeting Guide for Consumers

Debt Management Credit Counseling Corp (http://www.dmcconline.org), a 501c3 nonprofit organization (DMCC), announced today that it has published a new educational booklet to assist consumers in preparing and managing a personal budget. The publication, titled Personal Budgeting; A Guide For Creating And Managing Your Personal Budget, was written by DMCC certified counselors and is provided to consumers free of charge. DMCC will provide this booklet to consumers attending its educational seminars and to individual consumers upon request.personal budgeting

The Personal Budgeting booklet was designed to be a simple guideline that consumers may follow to create a monthly budget, particularly for the first time. It includes 5 basic steps to create a budget, including tips, forms and spending guidelines to help the user with the process. For computer savvy consumers, the publication includes a CD with electronic spreadsheet versions of the printed forms, as well as other helpful spreadsheets to help consumers manage their personal finances. “We wanted to be able to provide something tangible and useful to the person who is looking to budget their monthly income”, said Jason Athas, DMCC Manager of Educational Programs. “Consumers struggling to make ends meet each month should find this booklet to be a particularly valuable resource.”

DMCC’s mission is to provide consumers education and budget counseling to improve their financial literacy and assist them in the management of their personal finances. In addition to providing consumers this free educational booklet, certified counselors at DMCC will help individual consumers create their personal budget at no charge. Debt management plans are also available through DMCC to lower interest rates and monthly payments for the consumer’s unsecured debts, such as credit cards, payday loans, medical bills and collection accounts.
